Bryon McLaughlin joined Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS) as their new director of communications on December 16, 2022. Of his new position, Bryon says, “As a former NTS student, I am indebted to the school’s educational community and hope my work will aid the seminary’s efforts to form faithful and effective ministers and leaders for the Church of the Nazarene and the broader Christian community.”
Bryon has over 25 years of experience in communications with expertise in publications, website content management, social media, and video production. For over 20 years, he served as the communications coordinator for the USA/Canada Regional Office, Church of the Nazarene. From 2010 to 2016, he was the founding and executive editor of Grace and Peace, a clergy resource publication. In 2011, the magazine received a “Best New Print Publication” award from the Associated Church Press. In 2022, Bryon contributed a chapter to the book, A Prophet Among Us: The Legacy of Tom Nees (The Tom Nees Social Justice Award was established at NTS in 2006). In addition to his NTS studies, Bryon received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Religion from Southern Nazarene University.
“Bryon’s skillful ability as a narrative strategist and content creator will not only aid efforts in conveying the NTS story to prospective students and the greater church, but also help with resourcing pastors, church leaders, and laity,” reported Rev. Heather Bryant, Dean of Marketing and Enrollment.
