Nazarene Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the election of Rev. Heather Bryant as its new Dean for Enrollment and Marketing.

Heather reflected, “While attending Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2004-2009, I learned the nuances of community development, the effects of systemic poverty, the power of a spirit-filled church, and the impact of a thriving nonprofit/philanthropic sector.  NTS forms faithful and effective ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  To have an opportunity to invite transformational leaders to be formed by the most significant community that shaped my vision for vocation and ministry is probably one of the greatest gifts I can offer the world.”

Rev. Bryant’s enthusiasm for Nazarene Theological Seminary is rivaled by her experience and education.  Heather currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at Mental Health Association Oklahoma, a statewide, premier boots-on-the-ground nonprofit serving at the intersection of homelessness and mental illness.  For the past 15 years, vocation has drawn her into specific communities—all dedicated to service, equity, and helping the most vulnerable achieve food security, education, or mental health.  Heather is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene.  Her degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Ministry/Political Science from Southern Nazarene University, a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Master of Business Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University.

NTS President, Dr. Jeren Rowell, said of Rev. Bryant’s election, “With this bold addition, the NTS Board of Trustees signals its strategic vision, recognizing the emerging challenges of graduate theological education. Rev. Bryant precisely brings the mix of gifts, skills, and experiences to combine with her love for the mission of the church that will be a generative addition to the NTS team.”

Rev. Bryant will officially begin her duties at NTS on September 26, 2022.  We hope you will join us in offering Rev. Bryant our congratulations and prayers as she steps into this new role.
