Nazarene Theological Seminary recently named Darin Davis the new NTS Director of Admissions. This position has been vacant since 2017. For 18 months, Darin served as the Seminary’s primary admissions counselor before being elevated to this leadership role.

“I am delighted to welcome Darin into this new leadership position,” reported Rev. Heather Bryant, Dean of Enrollment and Marketing. “Her breadth of experience in education and leadership matches her overall holistic approach to student admissions. Darin’s hire signals NTS’ commitment to long-term, faithful, and effective service to the church and to those God has called into ministry. I especially value Darin’s ability to serve as an active listener who creates accessible pathways for all who are answering the call to deepen their faith, their call, and their ministry.”

In her new role, Darin will continue the good work she was engaging in as an admissions counselor and leading the development and advancement of the admissions process to grow enrollment, while nurturing relationships with prospective students. Darin says, “I enjoy the challenge of the admissions process. The realities of graduate education, and more specifically, graduate theological education, are changing substantially. I look forward to thinking outside of the box and imagining new ways to engage individuals who are seeking to encounter God in their lives and vocations.”

Darin enjoys conversing with students and helping them achieve their life goals. “One of the things I love most about my job,” she reflected, “is seeing students I admitted learn and grow as they move through their time at NTS. Each October, during Convene, it’s such a delight to connect in person with students I have primarily corresponded with online.”

Darin Davis holds a B.A. in liberal studies from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA and a M.A. in education from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. For three years, Darin served in various capacities in the Office of Admissions during her time at Point Loma. Prior to coming to Nazarene Theological Seminary, Darin taught as a public-school educator in California and Kansas.

When not at work, Darin enjoys reading and spending time with her family. Her husband, Derek, also serves at NTS as the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Instructor of Biblical Languages.

Prospective students interested in a master’s or doctoral degree programs at NTS, may contact Darin directly by emailing her at [email protected], by calling 816.268.5444, or booking an appointment with her through this link.
