Roma and Charles Gates
We are pleased to announce that, thanks to the generous support of friends and supporters of NTS, the Roma J. Gates Missionary Scholarship recently reached Endowed status. The Gates scholarship was featured in this past November’s #GivingTuesday campaign. This scholarship is dedicated to assisting students in preparing for missionary service.
The Roma J. Gates Missionary Scholarship was established in 2018 by the late Charles Gates in honor of his wife, Roma. Roma accompanied her husband in missionary work in Brazil and later served as an adjunct professor at NTS, preparing students for cross-cultural ministry.
Scholarships reaching endowed status become a gift that keeps on giving. The principal is invested, while 5% of the investment value is awarded as a scholarship to seminary students. As the scholarship fund grows, more assistance may be made available for seminarians.
