Every year since 1945, a graduating senior has been selected by the faculty to represent NTS, and his or her graduating class, by preaching the Corlett Senior Sermon at the Graduate Chapel the morning of Commencement. The selected preacher is also gifted with a cash prize and recognition on the Corlett plaque at the Seminary.
If you would like to participate in this year’s sermon series, please submit an original expository sermon (approximately 20 minutes in length) to Melinda Morgan ([email protected]) by January 15, 2020. Each participant should submit both their written manuscript as well as a video recording of their presentation of the material. The sermon may be one that was prepared previously for a class assignment or local ministry context; it must, however, be your original work.
The Corlett Committee will select up to three finalists to present their sermons at a chapel service on March 31, 2020. (Airfare and lodging will be covered for any distance students selected.) The senior selected from the three finalists will present her/his sermon during the Graduate Chapel on May 2, 2020.
