HOURS: Full Time
WAGE TYPE: $36,171.20- $48,484.80 DOQ

  • Must have reached 21st birthday by time of appointment.
  • Subject to background/suitability investigation/determination
  • Be free of felony conviciton
  • Take and pass drug test approved by the Office of Personnel Services
  • Possess valid Kansas driver’s license
  • Education/training/experience that is recognized by a particular religion
  • Job knowledge at an advanced level in religious guidance
  • Knowledge of: institutional programs, variety of religious backgrounds, counseling methods and techniques, principals and techniques of supervision and security, (and ability to use) verbal and physical control techniques.

Master’s degree or advanced training in theological studies or related field.  Clinical Pastoral education training.  Two years’ experience as a professional chaplain or professional faith group leader.  Certification by recognized professional chaplain’s organization such as the Association of Professional Chaplains or the American Correctional Chaplains Association.

Director of Children's and Youth Ministries: Atchison United Methodist Church 

POSITION/TITLE: Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries
HOURS: Part-Time (10 hours/week)
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and training with children’s and youth ministries preferred.
Must complete Safe Gatherings training and be certified by the Great Plains Conference of the UMC to work with children, youth, and other vulnerable populations (certification must be kept through entirety of employment). Strong faith in Jesus Christ; motivation and skills to work with people of all ages(especially children and youth); can acquire firm knowledge of UMC youth resources and current youth culture; friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic; ability to lead, motivate, and inspire children, youth, and adult volunteers.
1.  Faithfully attend church services, Sunday school, and youth group meetings and activities.
2.  Attend Christian Education Committee and Church Council meetings.
3.  Maintain a professional appearance both within the church and as a representative of the church to the community.
4.  Be familiar with the guidelines of the United Methodist Church and the Book of Discipline.
5.  Maintain open and honest relationships with the pastor, committee members, church members, and volunteers to enhance a positive environment.
6.  Develop, coordinate, and guide a comprehensive educational, fellowship and service ministry for our children and youth.
7.  Supervise and coordinate youth group meetings and activities.
8.  Be aware of and support all programming for the youth including programs in the community, district, and conference (ex: Institute at Baker University) and mission and service opportunities.
9.  Supervise and coordinate volunteers for Vacation Bible School.
10.  Help plan and organize Sunday school for children and youth, including recruiting teachers and selecting curriculum.
11.  Recruit and train volunteers to support children and youth ministries.
12.  Assist children and youth in fundraising activities.
13.  Follow a monthly budget for children’s and youth ministries.
14.  Prepare annual report of children’s and youth activities and help prepare annual budget.
15.  Related responsibilities as assigned.

Worship Leader: Summit View Church of the Nazarene

JOB DESCRIPTION: Summit View Church of the Nazarene is looking for a worship leader to come alongside the pastor and lay leaders of Summit View Church of the Nazarene in leading and facilitating weekly worship on Sunday mornings from 10:50AM-12:00pm.

Weekly Duties:

·         Creating worship song sets in collaboration with Pastoral Staff

·         Creating coordinating ppts on a weekly basis

·         Leading worship on Sunday mornings
