Accountant/HR Assistant


Position/Title: Accountant/HR Assistant

Assistant HOURS : Part-time (more than 20 hrs.)

WAGE TYPE *: Hourly


JOB REQUIREMENTS : Nazarene Theological Seminary, located in south Kansas City, is in need of a part-time Accountant/HR Assistant.

Primary Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Daily/weekly/monthly accounting duties (including deposits,accounts payable & payroll approval, etc.)

• Interfacing with/assisting our third-party accounting firm for AP, payroll, and GL

• Clerical human resource duties

• Liaison duties with our third-party HR firm, benefits vendors, and external auditors

• Other duties or projects, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of related accounting experience

• Intermediate Excel skills, as well as general computer skills

• Problem solving skills

• Ability to work independently and with a team

• Ability to manage multiple projects

• Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field)

• Experience with nonprofits is a plus

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Average weekly schedule will be 28 hours, Monday-Thursday. Compensation is based on education, expertise and experience.

Manufacturing Technician

Position/Title: Manufacturing Technician

HOURS : Part-time (less than 20 hrs.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS : Hospital Services Technicians perform inventory management in a highly regulated environment—from providing customer service to organizations ordering blood products through shipment of finished goods to area hospitals. May have to occasionally make deliveries to hospitals and other facilities. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and handle repetitive tasks, must be able to lift 50 lbs on occasion.

Resident Manager

Position/Title: Resident Manager

Job Requirements: Share an apartment with another resident Manager on site and be provided meals with guest and staff. Maintain a safe and secure facility which houses the Christian Life Program.  Provide compassionate orderliness throughout the Christian Life Center, particularly over night.  Conduct security patrols during the evening, as well as work closely with other City Union Mission Security personnel.  Assis the Christian Life Program staff in maintaining order and encouraging men on the CLP.

Position/Title: Mentor

Job Requirements: In collaboration with the Lead Mentor, the Residential Care Mentor will serve as the Center’s point of contact and liaison for the day-to-day shift activities and responsibilities at the Center.  The Residential Care Mentor will have a clear understanding and interpretation of all policies and procedures as outlined in the Women’s Center policy and Procedures Manual and will have the ability to appropriately implement as needed with accurate documentation.  She will be responsible for working with other Residential Care Mentors to serve as a teacher and mentor for the Center residents and clients.
