The “Willie Burkhart House” for NTS students was dedicated to our Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. This meaningful service was led by President Dr. Jeren Rowell and was attended by NTS Advancement personnel, cherished friends of the Seminary and grateful students.
Upon learning of an NTS student housing initiative, Willie Burkhart became interested in partnering with the Seminary to purchase and rehabilitate a nearby house through a generous Charitable Gift Annuity. The Willie Burkhart House provides safe, comfortable housing within walking distance of the Seminary for up to three students. NTS now currently owns 19 homes to accommodate a growing number of students seeking to study and minister in community.
Willie Burkhart was presented a bronze plaque, which is now mounted near the front door of the house:
This home was purchased and renovated through a generous gift provided in 2017 by Mrs. Willie Burkhart—Godly woman, member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, and faithful friend of Nazarene Theological Seminary—In honor of Rev. Park Burkhart and his late wife, Wynona Snowbarger Burkhart, for their 44 years of faithful pastoral service in the Church of the Nazarene.
We are grateful for this gift, and for Friends of the Seminary who partner in mission—preparing women and men to be faithful and effective ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
