Howard Thurman, "Jesus and the Disinherited." This book, more than any other influenced the way I think about spiritual formation and spiritual action.

Brennen Manning, "The Ragamuffin Gospel." This book helped me understand the deep love of God for us as we are not as we'd like to be.

Brene Brown, "Dare to Lead". This book, though not specifically spiritual, has helped me think about what it means to lead with courage and compassion; two values I believe are essential for Christian ministry.
