Why Mentoring?

I pastor in an urban context and work with people from all backgrounds including the LGBTQ+ community. My heart is to help pastors navigate the challenges in the church and beyond in how to provide safe spaces in the church community for people to worship and feel a part of the Family of God. I love to be a listening ear, a prayerful presence and to encourage people in their journeys as they seek to follow Christ and minister in creative and unique ways. I love the church, ministry, pastors who are trying to "figure things out" and want to use my talents and abilities to help in any way I can. My ministry experience is unique and I want to be available to those who may not have a place to go to talk about the unique or navigate the unique. I've also served in Creative Access Areas and bring perspective in how to minister in those settings.

Impactful Books

The Divine Mentor: Growing your Faith as You Sit at the Feet of the Savior- by Wayne Cordeiro. This book has impacted how I read and engage the Bible. My congregation is also growing in their faith through this book.

If You Want to Walk On Water, You've Got To Get Out of the Boat- by John Ortberg. This book has challenged me early in ministry in how to get out of my comfort zone.

In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership- by Henri Nouwen. This book has helped to keep my ministry in perspective through keeping me focused on leading with the right approach.
