Why Mentoring?

It is part of our calling as Christians and all the more for those in leadership. 2 Timothy 2:2 states, "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."

Impactful Books

1. Grace-Full Leadership by Dr. Bowling was an excellent resource for me as a new pastor.

2. Mentoring and Modeling Leadership Character by Dr. Fairbanks is a new book that has greatly shaped my understanding and practice of mentoring (I also served as senior editor for the book because of how meaningful it was to me.)

3. The Bible - I know that might sound like a Sunday School answer, but in truth it has been the most influential for me beyond sermon texts. I have gained greater understanding of the love and grace of God that helps me to better shepherd this portion of the Master Shepherd's flock.
