We are glad to welcome Alexandra Duenow back to Nazarene Theological Seminary, having been appointed our new Director of Library Services at William Broadhurst Library. Alexandra brings two decades of experience in academic and public libraries, a deep love for theological learning, and a proven knack for building teams and systems that serve students and faculty well.

Alexandra is no stranger to the NTS learning community. From 2002–2020 she served faithfully in our library, advancing from student circulation assistant to a fulltime librarian. In her previous time with us, she guided hundreds of students in their research journeys, broadened the reach of our archival collections and audio resources, and represented NTS in important library consortia. Alexandra holds the B.A. (Religion) from European Nazarene College, the M.A.T.S. from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and the M.L.I.S. from Emporia State University.

Reflecting on this opportunity to hire a skilled alumna, Dr. Sarah Coleson-Derck said, “Alexandra is deeply committed to the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, and I am excited about her ability to lead with innovation—improving patron experiences, and offering expertise in strategic planning, collection development, and library systems that will steward our resources wisely and extend our reach.” Looking ahead, Alexandra will prioritize digital innovations for our students, to enhance online access and develop services that meet students where they are.

In anticipation of her new role, Alexandra noted, “I am honored to serve in a space that not only houses knowledge but nurtures the spiritual and intellectual formation of current and future church leaders. With a background in theological librarianship and a passion for digital innovation, I look forward to building upon the rich legacy of our library.

My goal is to ensure that our collections, services, and technologies reflect both the depth of our tradition and the demands of contemporary theological education. Together, we will continue to make the library a place of inquiry, imagination, and inspiration.”

Please join us in celebrating Alexandra’s return to NTS in this vital role. We are grateful for her partnership in our mission to serve the church and our students, on campus and around the world.
