The Good News Award is an initiative of the NTS Alumni Association to recognize the contribution of four alumni during the Seminary’s 75th-anniversary celebration. Luke 4:18-19 served as an anchor text for these awards. In Fall 2020, NTS alumni nominated and voted upon candidates identified as persons of grace and integrity who have made outstanding contributions to kingdom work in and beyond the local church. The recipients of the Good News Awards are as follows:
GOOD NEWS TO THE POOR
Rev. Alice Piggee Wallack
This award honors an NTS alumnus whose ministry has benefited the impoverished.
RELEASE FOR THE CAPTIVES
Rev. Olivia Metcalf
This award honors an NTS alumnus whose ministry has benefited the incarcerated, addicted, or oppressed.
RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND
Rev. Donna Carlile
This award honors an NTS alumnus whose ministry has been primarily through the medical and/or mental health professions.
PROCLAIM THE YEAR OF THE LORD’S FAVOR
Dr. Montague Williams
This award honors an NTS alumnus whose ministry has been one of proclamation.
