norman-agnes-falkThanks to the generous support of friends and supporters of NTS, we are pleased to announce that the Rev. Norman and Mrs. Agnes Falk – Faithful and True Scholarship recently reached Endowed status.

The scholarship was established in January 2020 by Dr. David and Mrs. Dawn Falk in memory of David’s parents, Rev. Norman and Mrs. Agnes Falk. It is dedicated to providing assistance to NTS students with a love for teaching Scripture and a strong interest in pastoral care, visitation, and community engagement.

Norman and Agnes Falk served the Church of the Nazarene in Western Canada for over forty-five years. Norman was a lifelong Bible learner who loved to teach, believing that the written word was illuminated by the Living Word, Jesus Christ. Well respected as a pastor and teacher, Norman was committed to his Wesleyan roots yet was often sought after as a mentor by ministers from other traditions. Norman and Agnes were called to serve smaller churches and proved themselves to be “faithful and true” as they found joy in providing a shepherding ministry of visitation in homes, hospitals, schools, and community events.

Scholarships reaching endowed status become a gift that keeps on giving. The principal is invested, while five percent of the investment value is awarded as a scholarship to seminary students. As the scholarship fund grows, more assistance may be made available for seminarians.
