Second, the Director will provide oversight and volunteer management for the Children’s Chapel program that we currently have for ages 4 through 5th grade—including both our Godly Play program held during the academic year and our summer Sunday School series—as well as our Nursery. The Director of Youth and Family Ministries will also collaborate with the church staff and volunteers to carry out other parish life duties as necessary. Finally, please note that the successful applicant will need to pass a background check before beginning work.
St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, a growing and flourishing Episcopal parish in Lawrence, Kansas, is seeking a Director of Youth and Family Ministries to help nurture, grow, and sustain the faith lives of our youth and children. While this new position is currently designated part-time (approximately 18 hours per week, with Sundays required and two additional workdays), the intention is for the position to grow in the future. We are interested in someone with a background and experience in formation of youth and children, but familiarity with the Anglican/Episcopal tradition, while preferred, is not a requirement for consideration. We are primarily seeking someone with a heart for sharing with children the Good News of Jesus Christ—someone who loves, appreciates, and cultivates the countless gifts and joys that children and youth bring to the Church, and who can collaborate and communicate with church staff, volunteers, and parents. This is a great opportunity for someone who is faithful, creative, and passionate about guiding children and youth during some of the most critical years of their faith formation.
