About Ed and Nancy Robinson

Rev. Dr. Edwin Robinson (1951-2017) grew up living in the Pacific Northwest, Texas and Germany. Ed graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1973 with a degree in Religious Education. In 1973, Rev. Robinson graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Religious Education, and he earned his PhD in Religious Studies in 1987 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Robinson was engaged in pastoral leadership, theological education and Christian higher education for 43 years:

• Youth pastor in San Diego and Long Beach, CA, 1976-1984
• Professor and Dean of Faculty at Nazarene Theological Seminary, 1984-2005
• President of MidAmerica Nazarene University, 2005-2011
• Professor of Practical Theology, Director of Leadership Studies and Servant Leadership, and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northwest Nazarene University, 2011-2017

Ed was known as a servant leader, mentor and friend to many. He loved serving the Lord, his church, and his family.

Mrs. Nancy Robinson (1949-2020) grew up in Central California and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Nancy graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1973 and graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1991 with a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. She was a dedicated educator, retiring in 2005 after 32 years of teaching. Nancy served as the “First Lady” of MidAmerica Nazarene University from 2005 to 2011. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and working in the yard. Nancy was known as a caring and selfless friend to many.

The Robinsons established the Lyle W. and Bernice J. Robinson Memorial Scholarship in memory of Ed’s parents, Lyle and Bernice Robinson.
