Every year since 1945, a graduating senior has been selected by the faculty to represent NTS, and his or her graduating class, by preaching the Corlett Senior Sermon at the Graduate Chapel the morning of Commencement. The selected preacher is also gifted with a cash prize and recognition.
If you would like to participate in this year’s sermon series, please submit an original expository sermon (approximately 20 minutes in length) to Melinda Morgan ([email protected]) by January 31, 2021. Each participant should submit both their written manuscript as well as a video recording of their presentation. The sermon may be one that was prepared previously for a class assignment or local ministry context; it must, however, be your original work. Videos may be sent as video files or web links.
The Corlett Committee will select up to three finalists to present their sermons at a chapel service on March 30, 2021. Due to Covid-19 limitations, logistics for this year’s chapel service are still being finalized. If an in-person chapel is possible, airfare and lodging will be covered for any distance student selected as a finalist. The senior selected by the faculty from out of the three finalists will present her/his sermon during the Graduate Chapel on May 1, 2021.
Submissions and questions may be directed to [email protected].
