A Pastoral Presence…

NTS honors Dr. Judi Schwanz who served as Professor of Pastoral Care and Counseling for 19 years. In addition to her research and teaching, Judi served as Director of the Doctor of Ministry program and Director of the Wynkoop Center for Women in Ministry. Dr. Schwanz guided many students in their call to the ministry of chaplaincy and served as in-house counselor for hundreds of students. The NTS faculty was regularly enriched by her insights and pastoral wisdom. Dr. Schwanz taught us all how to attend to self-care, issues of grief and loss, and the nurture of our core relationships. We are thankful to God for the life and ministry of Judi Schwanz.
