Youth Intern
Summary: The youth intern will be a position servicing the youth ministry as a supplement to the main youth pastor on staff. This will include administrative, educating, and mentoring duties to provide help to maintain a quality youth ministry.
Responsibilities:
-To be a part of the North Star community by being a leader for the youth ministry.
-Help write, plan, and deliver lessons, sermons, and other educative processes in the different parts of the youth ministry.
-Sit with the youth during worship services providing an example in worship services and to be a part of their lives by socializing and being there for them.
-Meet weekly with the youth pastor to go over tasks, curriculum to be taught, and other pertinent information for the ministry that week.
Qualifications:
-A call to ministry with a passion for teenagers and their spiritual journeys.
-A willingness to learn and to participate in the logistics of a youth ministry.
-While a person working towards a ministerial track or degree is preferred, anyone with the ability of applying Biblical principles to teenage culture and caring for teens will be considered.
-Ability to be organized in planning and execution of events.
Compensation:
-Milage at the IRS rate will be paid for your travel to and from the church and events in the community (currently in 2011: 55.5 cents/mile).
Time Requirement:
-10 hours which is flexible over the different aspects of the week (events, planning time, etc). If more hours are needed for educational credits they will be granted.
-The mandatory time requirements is to be a part of the church community on Sunday mornings and at youth group at the Element. And to meet with the youth pastor once throughout the week.
