About the conference
:

Biblical preaching is one ofthe most important tasks of the God-called ministry. That’s why preparing and resourcing women and men to be outstanding biblical preachers is a priority for Nazarene Theological Seminary. And this will be the focus of the first NTS Preaching Conference: PREACHING HOLINESS IN A PLURALISTIC WORLD  |  OCTOBER 1-2, 2013.

We believe this two-day conference will be different than any you have attended before. We have asked eight of the finest holiness preachers in the Church of the Nazarene to come and preach-you will recognize them by name and reputation (to read the preacher’s bio, click on his/her name):

  • DAN BOONE - President | Trevecca Nazarene University
  • SCOTT DANIELS - Pastor | Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene
  • TIM GREEN - Dean, School of Religion | Trevecca Nazarene University
  • OLIVIA METCALF - Co-Senior Pastor | Mountain Home Church of the Nazarene
  • GABRIEL SALGUERO - Co-Lead Pastor | The Lamb’s Church
  • CARLA SUNBERG - Co-District Superintendent | East Ohio District Church of the Nazarene
  • SAM VASSEL - Senior Pastor | Bronx Bethany Church of the Nazarene
  • J. K. WARRICK - General Superintendent | Church of the Nazarene

In ethnically and stylistically diverse ways, each preacher will preach a sermon from a text of their choice around the theme of holiness. Immediately following the sermon, a moderator will sit down with each preacher and ask the very practical question: “How did you do that?” Most of us know a good sermon when we hear one, but we rarely get to hear the preacher talk about their method. After this brief interview, the conference attendees will have the opportunity for Q & A with each preacher regarding their sermon specifically, as well as about preaching in general.
