NTS Professor, Dean G. Blevins, Continues to Lead YouthFront

Dr. Dean G. Blevins, Nazarene Theological Seminary Professor of Christian Education and Director of the Master’s in Christian Education Degree Program, was recently elected to a third consecutive term as Chairman of the Board of YouthFront, a Kansas City based ministry dedicated to innovative practices in youth ministry and youth leader education.
Established in 1943, YouthFront ministers to thousands of youth on a yearly basis through camps, service projects, and retreat ministries. In addition, the ministry provides youth pastor education, parenting strategies, cross cultural & compassionate ministries, and numerous resources for youth leadership around the country. Mike King, President and CEO of the organization and editor of Immerse: A Journal of Faith, Life and Youth Ministry, also currently serves as adjunct faculty for NTS in the fields of youth spirituality and missional ministry.    
Dr. Blevins commented, “YouthFront provides the kind of partnership that enriches NTS and ensures our commitment to stay on the leading edge of youth ministry. It has been a pleasure to serve the organization and participate with some of the most dedicated and talented leaders in the field.” Blevins will serve through 2011 as board chair. His role reflects NTS’s continuing leadership and service to the church and educational ministry. In addition to YouthFront, Dr. Blevins continues as Vice President of the Religious Education Association (the oldest professional society in religious education) and as the U. S. Regional Education Coordinator for Clergy Education for the Church of the Nazarene.
