Scholarships
Many donors have chosen to establish scholarships at Nazarene Theological Seminary. These scholarships have been funded through gifts, matching funds, donations from family, friends, churches, and/or organizations.
Causey Presidential Scholarship
In honor of Moss Sr. and Norma Causey, committed lay persons with visionary leadership and initiative, their family and friends provide a scholarship to an entering student who shows potential for academic achievement and significant pastoral leadership. Particular consideration is given to individuals who demonstrate potential for planting and nurturing new churches and ministries within the Church of the Nazarene.
Estelle Crutcher/Earl Lee Scholarship
Raised in India, Rev. Estelle Crutcher was ordained in 1931. She pastored churches in Florida, New York, and New Jersey before entering full-time evangelism. Rev. Earl Lee married Estelle Crutcher's daughter, Hazel, and they served in ministry together first pastoring in Maine and New York, then as missionaries in India, then pastoring in Idaho and Pasadena. Both of these individuals left behind an amazing legacy prior to their passing. This scholarship is given to an individual called to ministry displaying excellence of character.
William & Evelyn Prince Scholarship
Dr. William Prince, General Superintendent Emeritus for the Church of the Nazarene, has provided distinctive service to the Church of Jesus Christ. Wayne and Peggy Penrod of Dayton, Ohio, established this scholarship in appreciation for the Prince's life-time investment in the Church of the Nazarene. This scholarship is designated for a Mount Vernon Nazarene University graduate coming to NTS to obtain a M.Div. degree.
Phillip M. Riley Scholarship
A relative of Phillip M. Riley chose to honor him by establishing a scholarship in his name due to his commitment to ministry and his ten years of care for the relative's ailing husband. Dr. Riley served the Church of the Nazarene in various capacities for more than forty years as pastor, District Superintendent, General Board member, and the first Division Director for Sunday School Ministries. The scholarship is given to a NTS student preparing for pastoral ministry.
Trustee Scholarship
NTS Trustees provide a scholarship to an entering student who demonstrates potential for academic achievement and a commitment to serve Christ within the Church of the Nazarene. Particular consideration is given to those with demonstrated potential for the integration of scholarship and Christian ministry.
William Greathouse Foundation
The William Greathouse Foundation provides scholarships to selected Trevecca Nazarene University graduates attending NTS. The scholarship is administered by and awarded through the Greathouse Foundation in conjunction with the TNU Religion and Philosophy department.
