Hall Lectures in Children’s Ministries. Dr. Scottie May, Associate Professor of Christian Formation and Ministry at Wheaton College, provided a powerful opening lecture on “Why Welcoming Children Welcomes Jesus” and followed with an interactive session on “How Welcoming Children Welcomes Jesus.”

<p>Platter will present his paper in an NTS Chapel on Tuesday April 16 at 10:30am.&nbsp; All are welcome!</p>

<p>Dr. Tom Nees is widely recognized as the one who led the way in renewing the   Church of the Nazarene&rsquo;s understanding of its call to minister to and  among  those in need through the development of the Community of Hope in  Washington  D.C. Dr. Nees later served as Director of Mission Strategy  for the Church of the  Nazarene in the United States and Canada and as  adjunct faculty for NTS,  teaching urban ministry courses. The Nees  lectureship and Nees Social Justice Award was made possible by NTS  alumnus, Jim Copple, in 2008.</p>

NTS was awarded a grant in the same amount by the Luce Foundation in 2009 in order to start a Global Consortium that includes NTS and seven global Nazarene graduate theological schools and seminaries. This consortium has, over the past 4 years, met on a number of occasions in order to find ways to share resources and develop collaborative programs.

Dr. Van Duzer is newly appointed Provost of Seattle Pacific University, having previously served as the Dean of the School of Business and Economics and Professor of Business Law and Ethics.  For twenty years prior to his full-time association with the University, he practiced law in Seattle with an emphasis on finance and natural resources.  He writes and speaks frequently in both church and professional settings, offering Christian perspectives on the worlds of business and economics.
