OLIVIA METCALF

Co-Senior Pastor | Mountain Home Church of the Nazarene
 Mountain Home, ID

Olivia Metcalf is a third generation Nazarene pastor. She sensed a call to ministry as a young teenager but did not know what it would mean to be a female pastor. Through the care of her parents in nurturing her call she attended Northwest Nazarene University. While a student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies she met Dustin Metcalf, and they married in 1999. She graduated from NNU in 2000 and went on to Nazarene Theological Seminary to further her studies. While she and Dustin were working on their masters degrees Andrew Michael James was born to them in 2002. In 2004 Olivia received her degree and the couple went on to Atwater, CA to co-pastor. While pastoring in California Ethan George Scott was born in 2006. In 2010 the Nazarene church in Mountain Home, ID called them to be their pastors. Missions work has always been an important part of the Metcalf’s life and ministry. They have a passion to engage the local church in global and local outreach. As they have grown in their ministry they also have gained an appreciation for the preaching task as fundamental to discipleship in the local church. Olivia is asked to preach around the country at retreats, camps, universities and conferences. She is privileged to write for different denominational publications. Olivia has served on district boards and participates in the educational process on her district for those seeking ordination. The most important and difficult goal of her life is to be faithful—faithful to her Lord, her family, and her church.
