First Meeting of the Global Consortium of Nazarene Seminaries and Graduate Schools of Theology

21 representatives from 8 schools convened for 5 days on the campus of Nazarene Theological College (Manchester, UK) in the inaugural meeting of a global consortium of Nazarene schools offering graduate work in theology/ministry.  LeBron Fairbanks, Commissioner of Education for the Church of the Nazarene, convened the meetings.  Discussions were lively and engaging as the members of the new consortium discussed possibilities of sharing resources, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative programs, and forums to enhance theological cohesion in the growing global Church.  The eight schools participating in the consortium are:

Follow up discussions are planned among the deans of the schools in the consortium with the next full gathering scheduled to be held on the campus of Korea Nazarene University in November of 2010.  The consortium is funded in part through a generous grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. 

The goal of the consortium is to provide greater resources to all participating schools, increase the global perspective of faculty and students, and provide a forum to enhance theological and missional cohesiveness in the Church of the Nazarene. 

NTS & APNTS offer Collaborative D.Min. Degree

A cohort of 12-15 students are expected to register for the first seminar of a new Doctor of Ministry program (scheduled for June 2010).  The Doctor of Ministry Degree will come from NTS, with all classes being delivered in Manila. Professors from NTS, APNTS and from the Asia Pacific Region will team up to co-facilitate the doctoral seminars.
