From Your Alumni Council

Rev. Christa Klosterman (’02) is the Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Nicholasville, KY and is serving as a Member-at-Large on the NTS Alumni Association Council this quadrennium.

Following seminary I moved to rural Canada to pastor.  It’s a story that surprises people.  And even now, I find it surprises me.

How did I—so young, small, and single—move so far from home?  I am convinced part of the answer is the NTS community.  Students, staff, faculty and spouses strengthened me to the point that this move was possible.  I was loved, encouraged, affirmed and very inspired by the faithfulness I saw around me.  In my three years at Seminary, the NTS community fueled the faithfulness that led me to Canada.

But it didn’t stop there.  The NTS community continues to fuel my faithfulness.  Now this happens through emails and phone calls, during meetings and conferences.  Whenever I connect with the pieces and people of my growing NTS family, I find there is courage to go and do what God asks of me.

This is why the alumni council works to bring alumni together.  We do this formally through class reunions, learning opportunities, and fellowship events.  But let me also do it informally here: Can you think of an NTS friend that it might be time to call, write or visit?  Let me encourage you:  DO IT! The Kingdom will be strengthened and faithfulness will be fueled!
