DR. DAVID WESLEY, Professor of Intercultural Studies

Before coming to Nazarene Theological Seminary David Wesley served as a global missionary for the Church of the Nazarene in Ecuador and Argentina for 13 years.

David received his B.A. degree from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma in 1985. He received a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in Missiology from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1990. He received his Doctorate of Ministry degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and is currently a Ph.D student in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, IL. Prior to his missionary assignment, he served as pastor of the Colonial Church of the Nazarene in Orlando, Florida, for two years, as well as pastor of a multi-cultural ministry in Kansas City for five years during seminary.

Dr. Wesley was assigned to the South America Regional Office in Quito, Ecuador, in 1993. In 1996 he was relocated to the current South America Regional Office in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

During his term of service in Ecuador, David served as the District Superintendent of the Sierra Sur and the Sierra Norte Districts. He also served as the Field Assistant to the Regional Director for the country of Ecuador. For seven years he served as the South America Regional Education Coordinator and Rector of the Nazarene Seminary in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As of July 2005, David began his new assignment at Nazarene Theological Seminary teaching in the area of missions and intercultural studies. Actsoneeight.blogspot.com is Dr. Wesley’s blog site. He also manages a website for the “Center of Intercultural Studies” at cis.nts.edu

Glynda and David Wesley have two children: Shane and Leah.
