The mission of the United Methodist Church is “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
North Star Church’s unique vision is to “foster new and growing relationships with God and others through worship, learning, service and witness” in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
The mission of the Children’s Ministry is to provide opportunities for spiritual, intellectual and relational growth in the Christian faith for children ages infant – 5th grade.
Children’s Ministry Coordinator’s mission is to provide the leadership necessary to grow the North Star Children’s Ministry in spirit and number.
Areas of responsibility:
1. Recruit, train, support, and supervise volunteer teachers and assistants
2. Provide leadership and support for special events such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Children’s Christmas Program, Junior Youth Fellowship, etc.
3. Provide for the safety of children and volunteers through maintaining Safe Sanctuaries policies
4. Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget and expenditures
5. Participate in weekly staff meeting and monthly program ministries team meeting
Important qualities:
1. Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and support of the North Star mission and vision
2. Passion for guiding children to faith in Jesus Christ
3. Strong organizational skills
4. Good people skills to inspire and encourage volunteers
5. Vision for a growing ministry
Hours: Flexible, current position is 15-20 hours/week with the potential to expand further as the ministry grows.
Salary: Flexible, based upon training and experience.
