SHAWNA SONGER GAINES is Chaplain at Trevecca Nazarene University. Previously she served as Co-Lead Pastor of the Bakersfield First Church on the Nazarene alongside her husband Tim Gaines. She graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University (B.A. Philosophy and Theology) and Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.Div.). She co-authored A Seat at the Table and Kings and Presidents: Politics in the Kingdom of God.  

 Shawna will be a Presenter in Session 3 on Thursday afternoon.



DAN BOONE has served as president of Trevecca Nazarene University since 2015.  Previously he pastored in Illinois,  Tennessee, North Caroline, Kansas and Mississippi.  He received his B.A. in Religion from Trevecca Nazarene University, his M. Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary and his D.Min. from McCormick Theological Seminary. Dan is a popular speaker throughout the Nazarene denomination.  He is Professor of Pastoral Theology and Preaching at Trevecca; is Adjunct Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Theology at Nazarene Theological Seminary; he has taught classes at Olivet Nazarene University and has instructed for the Salvation Army.  He has written numerous books and article, including Human Sexuality:  A Primer for Christians; A Charitable Discourse: Talking about the Things that Divide Us; and The Church in Exile: Interpreting Where We Are.  Click here to view his full biography.

GORDON T. SMITH is President of Ambrose University and Seminary in Calgary. He also serves as Professor of Systematic and Spiritual Theology. Gordon graduated from the University of Regina (B.A.); Ambrose Seminary (M.Div); Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University (Ph.D.). Gordon has authored many publications including Called to Be Saints: An Invitation to Christian Maturity and the forthcoming The Ecology of Grace: Can we be Evangelical, Sacramental and Pentecostal?

Gordon will be the Presenter in Session 5 on Friday morning.



CARLA SUNBERG is President of Nazarene Theological Seminary. Carla has served the church as a missionary, educator, pastor and District Superintendent. She graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University (B.S.); Nazarene Theological Seminary (M.A.); Olivet Nazarene University (Honorary Doctor of Divinity, 2012); University of Manchester in the United Kingdom (Ph.D. Historical Theology). She is co-author of Faxes from Russia, Reclaiming Eve: The Identity and Calling of Women in the Kingdom of God and Reflecting the Image

Carla will be the Preacher for the Closing Session on Friday afternoon.
