Nearly 70 years ago, the people called Nazarenes placed a stake in the ground and declared that an educated clergy would no longer be an exception. It will be who we are. We chose to say yes to an educated clergy to the same degree we say yes to educated doctors, lawyers, and school teachers.

Farewell Dr. Marty Butler ('75, '81)

At the close of this academic year, Dr. D. Martin “Marty” Butler, Dean for Administration and Student Services, will retire. His 20 years of service to NTS have had a profound impact on the institution–administration, faculty, staff and students–and he will be greatly missed.

Corlett Senior Sermon

The CORLETT SENIOR SERMON is an annual tradition at NTS. The late Mr. Eric A. Mabes, a prominent Kansas City Realtor, established the Corlett Senior Sermon Award in the interest of developing an incentive for more effective preaching. He sponsored the award from 1945 to 1966. In 1966, Dr. and Mrs. L. T. Corlett, as a symbol of their continuing interest in the future ministry of the church, assumed the sponsorship of this award.

Alumni Reunions Celebrated

On Saturday, May 11, 2013 we were privileged to host an alumni reunion lunch, with special invitations to members of the NTS Classes of 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1988, 1993, 2003, 2008. Those in attendance enjoyed a time of fellowship together, shared membories of their days as students at NTS, the ways in which God has blessed their ministries over the years, and received words of update about NTS from President David Busic and Alumni President Carla Sunberg.
